An Exciting Sponsorship Opportunity For Berkshire Businesses

Would you like your logo and branding exposed to an immediate audience of 10 – 12,000 people?

If so, you might want to talk to Minaz Ali and Daren Keegan of Slough Youth Festival (SYF). This event, taking place on Sunday 4th September, has attracted an ever-growing audience in recent years and is expected to bring well in excess of 10,000 visitors this year.

‘We want to encourage local businesses to consider sponsoring specific areas of the festival’ explains Daren. ‘Sponsors will have the opportunity to brand their area with their logo and banners – we will also include their branding on our publicity material’.

A Festival for young people by young people, SYF aims to provide information and opportunities for young people aged 11-30 using creative mediums, performance opportunities, interactive workshops and by the sharing of cultural heritage through art, food and performance.

Young people get involved in organising and participating in the Festival through volunteer positions, work experience and performing.

The Festival has enjoyed amazing growth in recent years: 3500 visitors in 2003 rising to a staggering 8000 last year. And this year’s event is set to be the biggest ever. This year’s activities include:

• Large Dome Performance stages and Mini Stage – featuring the UK’s largest outdoor performance stage
• Information Zone and Activity Zone – information service providers using creative mediums to distribute information
• Interactive Multi Cultural Workshops – including Bollywood dance and martial arts
• Film Zone supported by BBC Blast – animation workshops and local film showcases
• Chillout and Acoustic Performance Zone – alternative healing, arts and crafts, tarot reading, live jazz music
• Travelling Mini Theatre –issue-based drama exploring life for young people
• Other Activities - World music zone, mouth-watering food, travelling farm, low-price fun fair, children’s crèche

Looking at this list of activities, it’s not hard to see why the event has become so popular.
